UBEES, the global leader in beekeeping applied to regenerative agriculture, announces a €8 million Series A funding round, co-led by European funds Starquest and Capagro, with participation from Newtree Impact.
This funding will enable UBEES to accelerate its scale-up by expanding its international footprint, reinforcing its leadership in regenerative agriculture, and strengthening its teams to support growing demand.
Founded in 2017, UBEES develops pollination programs based on in-depth analysis of pollinators and their ecosystems. By combining beekeeping expertise, agronomic data, and field support, the company helps assess ecosystem health, optimize farming practices, and measure their tangible impact on crop performance.
Now active in more than fifteen countries across five continents, UBEES works with leading players in the agri-food, cosmetics, and energy sectors—including Nespresso, Nestlé, and Starbucks—to improve agricultural yields, enhance production stability, preserve biodiversity, and contribute to higher incomes for smallholder farmers.
Turning pollination into a lever for agricultural management
Although nearly 75% of global food crops depend on pollination, it remains largely absent from agronomic strategies and industry management tools. UBEES addresses this gap by structuring pollination programs as a practical, operational lever for farmers and brands. Thanks to connected hives equipped with sensors and analytical tools, the company monitors pollinators activity and environmental conditions. The data collected (productivity, crop quality, biodiversity indicators, carbon footprint, etc.) is used to formulate recommendations for optimizing agricultural practices.
Beyond technology, UBEES supports its partners end-to-end, from project design through to field implementation, ensuring solutions are adapted to local contexts and deliver measurable results.
Scaling impact through Series A funding
With this fundraising, UBEES plans to:
- Accelerate expansion in Latin America and Africa, key regions for the coffee, red fruit, avocado, and cocoa industries, while consolidating its presence in Europe and the United States.
- Continue advancing embedded technologies within its connected hives to further improve pollinator monitoring and data quality.
- Structure its impact division to measure agronomic, environmental, and economic outcomes with greater precision.
- Build a global community of farmers who are trained, equipped, and supported, benefiting from additional income through beekeeping while gaining access to reliable agronomic data
“This fundraising marks a turning point. Every day, we prove that pollination can become a measurable, profitable, and scalable agronomic lever. Thanks to the support of our investors, we will accelerate the transition to more productive, more resilient agricultural systems while promoting biodiversity.”
- Louis Delelis-Fanien, CEO de UBEES
"By combining in-depth expertise in pollination with an innovative model involving both brands and farmers, Ubees has created a virtuous circle, generating measurable environmental and economic benefits. Increased agricultural yields and additional income from honey production strengthen the resilience of farms and support the entire value chain, while accelerating the adoption of regenerative agricultural practices. We are proud to support Ubees as they enter their next phase of growth."
- Quentin Simon, Directeur d’investissement chez Starquest
"Making a positive impact on a global scale is one of the biggest challenges facing AgTech. UBEES has already demonstrated its ability to meet this challenge, operating in North and South America, Africa, and Europe, while adapting to local agronomic, social, and environmental realities. We were particularly impressed by the team's ability to replicate a consistent beekeeping model internationally, combining the commitment of local farmers with partnerships with global agri-food brands."
- Maxime Walter, Directeur d'investissement chez Capagro
“By combining scalable beekeeping infrastructure with cutting-edge monitoring technologies, Ubees has created an innovative platform that reconciles biodiversity, agricultural performance, and ecosystem resilience. We are proud to support a high-quality team and are confident in its potential to become a leader in pollination services.”
- Benoît de Bruyn, CEO de Newtree Impact
